Joseph of ARIMATHEA (The Rich Honourable man that took and buried Jesus Christ's dead body): Read and what's your view
(1) Joseph of Arimathea was not one of the known twelve disciples (known twelve apostles) of Jesus Christ. But the Holy Bible acknowledged him as a disciple of Jesus Christ. He was possibly a hidden disciple based on this Bible passages below.
According to Matthew 27: 57-61
'WHEN IT WAS EVENING, A RICH MAN FROM ARIMATHEA ARRIVED; HIS NAME WAS JOSEPH, AND HE ALSO WAS A DISCIPLE OF JESUS. HE WENT INTO THE PRESENCE OF PILATE AND ASKED FOR THE BODY OF JESUS. PILATE GAVE ORDERS FOR THE BODY TO BE GIVEN TO JOSEPH. SO JOSEPH TOOK IT, WRAPPED IT IN A NEW LINEN SHEET, AND PLACED IT IN HIS OWN TOMB, WHICH HE HAD JUST RECENTLY DUG OUT OF SOLID ROCK. THEN HE ROLLED A LARGE STONE ACROSS THE ENTRANCE TO THE TOMB AND WENT AWAY. MARY MAGDALENE AND THE OTHER MARY WERE SITTING THERE, FACING THE TOMB.'
(2) Joseph of Arimathea was a respected member of the council (the same council that was part of those that lied against and crucified Jesus Christ) which was the more reason his discipleship must have been hidden.
Note that: The Holy Bible states that Joseph of Arimathea never supported the evil men in council against JESUS CHRIST.
According to Mark 15: 42-47
'IT WAS TOWARDS EVENING WHEN JOSEPH OF ARIMATHEA ARRIVED. HE WAS A RESPECTED MEMBER OF THE COUNCIL, WHO WAS WAITING FOR THE COMING OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD. IT WAS PREPARATION DAY(THAT IS, THE DAY BEFORE THE SABBATH), SO JOSEPH WENT BOLDLY INTO THE PRESENCE OF PILATE AND ASKED HIM FOR THE BODY OF JESUS. PILATE WAS SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT JESUS WAS ALREADY DEAD. HE CALLED THE ARMY OFFICER AND ASKED HIM IF JESUS HAD BEEN DEAD A LONG TIME. AFTER HEARING THE OFFICER'S REPORT, PILATE TOLD JOSEPH HE COULD HAVE THE BODY. JOSEPH BOUGHT A LINEN SHEET, TOOK THE BODY DOWN, WRAPPED IT IN THE SHEET, AND PLACED IT IN A TOMB WHICH HAD BEEN DUG OUT OF SOLID ROCK. THEN HE ROLLED A LARGE STONE ACROSS THE ENTRANCE TO THE TOMB. MARY MAGDALENE AND MARY THE MOTHER OF JOSEPH WERE WATCHING AND SAW WHERE THE BODY OF JESUS WAS PLACED.'
(3) The Holy Bible insists that Joseph of Arimathea's main goal in life was to keep waiting for the Kingdom of God (Heaven) irrespective of all his great riches. This means that all Joseph of Arimathea ever did in his life on earth at that time, he did to make Heaven.
According to Matthew 27: 57
'WHEN IT WAS EVENING, A RICH MAN FROM ARIMATHEA ARRIVED; HIS NAME WAS JOSEPH, AND HE ALSO WAS A DISCIPLE OF JESUS.'
According to Mark 15: 42
'IT WAS TOWARDS EVENING WHEN JOSEPH OF ARIMATHEA ARRIVED. HE WAS A RESPECTED MEMBER OF THE COUNCIL, WHO WAS WAITING FOR THE COMING OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD.'
According to Luke: 23: 50
'THERE WAS A MAN NAMED JOSEPH FROM ARIMATHEA, A TOWN IN JUDEA. HE WAS A GOOD AND HONOURABLE MAN, WHO WAS WAITING FOR THE COMING OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD.'
According to John 19:38
'AFTER THIS, JOSEPH WHO WAS FROM THE TOWN OF ARIMATHEA, ASKED PILATE IF HE COULD TAKE JESUS' BODY. (JOSEPH WAS A FOLLOWER OF JESUS, BUT IN SECRET, BECAUSE HE WAS AFRAID OF THE JEWISH AUTHORITIES.) PILATE TOLD HIM HE COULD HAVE THE BODY, SO JOSEPH WENT AND TOOK IT AWAY.'
(4) The Holy Book of John confirmed that Joseph of Arimathea was a secret member of the household of God won through our Lord Jesus Christ. Not everyone knew about this and, possibly, not all of the twelve (12) apostles knew of his discipleship. The Holy Bible still confirmed him a disciple of Christ Jesus but a secret/hidden one. "JOSEPH OF ARIMATHEA" seems not to be the only secret rich disciple of Jesus Christ, there was another man called "NICODEMUS." NICODEMUS went there twice to see and possibly inspect Jesus Christ's dead body.
The two consecutive times Nicodemus went to see Jesus dead body that was in Pontius Pilate's custody👇🏼:
(a) Only him (Nicodemus) earlier that same night.
(b) Later that same night he (Nicodemus) went with Joseph of Arimathea
JOSEPH OF ARIMATHEA AND NICODEMUS EACH CONTRIBUTED EXPENSIVE ITEMS FOR THE BURIAL OF JESUS CHRIST'S DEAD BODY:
(i) Joseph of Arimathea donated the New unused tomb he dug out of a solid Rock and a new linen
(ii) Nicodemus donated 30 KILOGRAMMES of spices, a mixture of myrrh and aloes.
Note that upon Jesus Christ birth, he got a gift of myrrh from one of the three wise men and upon his death he got the gift of myrrh from one of the three rich men. Myrrh! Myrrh!!
According to John 19: 38-43
'AFTER THIS, JOSEPH WHO WAS FROM THE TOWN OF ARIMATHEA, ASKED PILATE IF HE COULD TAKE JESUS' BODY. (JOSEPH WAS A FOLLOWER OF JESUS, BUT IN SECRET, BECAUSE HE WAS AFRAID OF THE JEWISH AUTHORITIES.) PILATE TOLD HIM HE COULD HAVE THE BODY, SO JOSEPH WENT AND TOOK IT AWAY. NICODEMUS, WHO AT FIRST HAD GONE TO SEE JESUS AT NIGHT, WENT WITH JOSEPH, TAKING WITH HIM ABOUT 30 KILOGRAMMES OF SPICES, A MIXTURE OF MYRRH AND ALOES. THE TWO MEN TOOK JESUS' BODY AND WRAPPED IT IN LINEN WITH THE SPICES ACCORDING TO THE JEWISH CUSTOM OF PREPARING A BODY FOR BURIAL. THERE WAS A GARDEN IN THE PLACE WHERE JESUS HAD BEEN PUT TO DEATH, AND IN IT THERE WAS A NEW TOMB WHERE NO ONE HAD EVER BEEN BURIED. SINCE IT WAS THE DAY BEFORE THE SABBATH AND BECAUSE THE TOMB WAS CLOSE BY, THEY PLACED JESUS' BODY THERE.'
(5) This is a confirmation that with Jesus Christ (God, the Son), your good secret is safe. Even if it seems displeasing to your high class, peers, work colleagues or staff members, present fellow religion people etc, God loves and accepts you. That's all that matters.
According to John 19:38
'AFTER THIS, JOSEPH WHO WAS FROM THE TOWN OF ARIMATHEA, ASKED PILATE IF HE COULD TAKE JESUS' BODY. (JOSEPH WAS A FOLLOWER OF JESUS, BUT IN SECRET, BECAUSE HE WAS AFRAID OF THE JEWISH AUTHORITIES.) PILATE TOLD HIM HE COULD HAVE THE BODY, SO JOSEPH WENT AND TOOK IT AWAY.'
(6) Pontius Pilate would have not handed over Jesus Christ's dead body to Joseph of Arimathea if he knew that he was a hidden disciple of Jesus Christ because their main evil plan after Jesus Christ died on the Holy Cross of Calvary was to make sure that no disciple of Jesus Christ came near his body or his tomb/grave. This was because they wickedly claimed that the disciples of Jesus Christ planned to steal His body on the third day and then now confuse the public by lying that Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day. Anyway, the Good news still remains the truth that Jesus Christ still rose from the dead on the third day after His death on the Holy Cross of Calvary.
NOTE THAT THESE PHARISEES DARED TO CALL OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST A LIAR BECAUSE HE TALKED ABOUT HIS RESURRECTION FROM THE DEAD WHEN HE WAS STILL LIVING AMONGST US AS A MAN (A FULL FLESHED HUMAN BEING LIKE EVERYONE ELSE BACK THEN).
According to Matthew 27: 62-66
'THE NEXT DAY, WHICH WAS A SABBATH, THE CHIEF PRIESTS AND THE PHARISEES MET WITH PILATE AND SAID, "SIR, WE REMEMBER THAT WHILE THAT LIAR WAS STILL ALIVE HE SAID, "I WILL BE RAISED TO LIFE THREE DAYS LATER.' GIVE ORDERS, THEN, FOR HIS TOMB TO BE CAREFULLY GUARDED UNTIL THE THIRD DAY, SO THAT HIS DISCIPLES WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GO AND STEAL THE BODY, AND THEN TELL THE PEOPLE THAT HE WAS RAISED FROM DEATH. THIS LAST LIE WOULD BE EVEN WORSE THAN THE FIRST ONE." "TAKE A GUARD," PILATE TOLD THEM; " GO AND MAKE THE TOMB AS SECURE AS YOU CAN." SO THEY LEFT AND MADE THE TOMB SECURE BY PUTTING A SEAL ON THE STONE AND LEAVING THE GUARD ON WATCH.'
